In our quest to better understand the genetic heritage of domestic pigs, we delved into the genetic makeup of their ancestors, the Eurasian wild boars. By examining mitochondrial DNA and nuclear genes extracted from both wild and domestic pig populations spanning Asia and Europe, our study aims to shed light on the fascinating process that gave rise to the beloved farmyard inhabitants we know today.
